Currently loving: Laurel Leaf Keepsake Necklace by Laura Serrafero

We asked this month’s Vintage Style Council member of the month, Katherine from Of Corgis and Cocktails, to tell us about which piece of our artisan jewelry she’s currently loving. She chose the Laurel Leaf Keepsake Necklace made for us by Toronto artist Laura Serrafero. Here is her suggestion of how to incorporate the necklace into a green themed, nature inspired outfit:

Hi! I’m Katherine, and I blog over at Of Corgis & Cocktails, a fashion and lifestyle blog all about quirky fashion, cute pups, delicious food, and generally things that make you smile. Today I am bringing you some of my favorite items inspired by the Laurel Leaf Keepsake Necklace here at Turtle Love Co.

One of the first pieces of jewelry that I fell in love with at Turtle Love Co is the Laurel Leaf Keepsake Necklace. I love necklaces that feature a cluster of charms in a timeless metal, so this necklace is right up my alley. Taking cue from this classic piece, these items all remind me of bay laurel leaves in some way. The leaf print dress is perfect for a stroll in the garden, the green nail polish and bag are that perfect shade of summer leaf green, and the wedges are the perfect mix of nature with their all leather leaf decoration.

Vintage Style Council Member of the Month- Of Corgis & Cocktails

July is upon us and in this month famous for its “dog days” of summer, it’s only fitting that our Vintage Style Council Member of the Month is none other than our dog loving fashion blogger Katherine from Of Corgis and Cocktails!

Katherine, who joined Turtle Love Co.’s Vintage Style Council in the Spring of 2012, is a product designer who shares her outfits, travel, dog advice, and recipes on her blog. She considers silver to be her favorite precious metal and says “When I was younger, my sister would buy me lovely sterling silver jewelry as a birthday gift. I still have many of the pieces that she picked out for me and treasure them. Even my wedding and engagement rings are not the typical white gold - my husband found a sterling setting, preferring the silver himself!” She chose to become a Vintage Style Council member for a few different reasons: “ First, I was excited about the community it could create. Second, as a product designer, I love being able to put my mind to different things. Being able to collaborate and give opinions on products keeps my creative wheels spinning. Lastly, I really just love the designs that Turtle Love Co. offers. If I was not already engaged, I would be pushing my boyfriend towards the amazing vintage rings! ”

If you want to see what Katherine’s been up to, you can find her blog at Of Corgis and Cocktails.

The super-fashionable Katherine, who blogs at Of Corgis and Cocktails, and is a member of Turtle Love Co.’s Vintage Style Council, created a Pinterest board around one of our vintage engagement rings.

Here’s the vintage diamond ring she chose (which happens to have already gone to its lucky new owner!)

Super-neat that Katherine also included one of our men’s wedding bands and a luscious pair of branch earrings. Thanks, Katherine!
