April is Green Weddings Awareness Month

Get back to nature while planning your wedding! The average ceremony generates 400-600 pounds of trash and an awful lot of planet-warming CO2. The folks at Dream Green Weddings along with the Green Bride Guide are launching an environmental awareness campaign to educate engaged couples about the impact a wedding has on the planet. We think this is a great idea and is right in line with our TLC philosophy. What do you think about the impact a wedding can have on the environment?

Yes! We can’t believe it either. Since we are regularly sleuthing the web for all things wedding-related, we just had to share this beautiful idea!

We found this great eco-friendly blog post with an article about ‘butterfly wish bouquets’. Once we got to reading, we discovered a phenomenon that truly wowed us: the release of hundreds of butterflies during a wedding ceremony! According the website, the butterfly release is clean, safe, and environmentally friendly. And also, fun and elegant. We dig it. What do you think?
