My wedding ring is a 3mm, half-round white gold band with “Joseph” engraved on the inside. My husband’s is 4mm and his engraving says “Alicia.” The bands are very simple and traditional, but they didn’t have to be. It’s just what we decided to choose.

The convention for wedding bands used to be the plain gold band, and many people still adhere to those conventions.
